The light at the end of the tunnel…

… is a train!!!

There’s nothing I like better than trains! I go to sleep and wake up saying “Eee-eee, woo-woo.” (Translation: train whistle sound effects) So, last weekend we decided to check out La Crosse’s train show. It was the BEST.DAY.EVER. I may or may not have cried a little bit when I was forced to leave.

But, the tears dried up once we headed to West Salem’s camper show! We got free popcorn, hot dogs and soda!! Oh, and we looked at campers, too. I can’t wait for camping season to commence.

I picked out a new fifth wheel travel trailer that my parents forgot to purchase.  I’ll have to remind them once we win the lottery. In the meantime, I’ll keep dreaming…

Reconnecting with Papa

I love my Papa Florence, or “Papa-No-No” as I like to call him. I use the TV remote control to call him almost every day, but it’s much more fun to connect with Papa in person.

During our last visit to Mukwonago, we went to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sports Show and enjoyed a lumberjack competition, watched Labrador retrievers jump into a pool of water, and pretended to buy a couple ATVs.

And just to make a great weekend even better, we purchased and ate some delicious tamales before it was time to head back home to continue my conversations with Papa through the remote control… until I’m rudely interrupted by one of Mom’s TV shows.

Hola-la, Mexico! (2016)

“Last call for winter,” I declared on January 30!

Because on January 31, we left on a jet plane, in search of warmer weather.

And we found it…

…in Mexico!

If you’re questioning why we picked this place and/or this time of the year, it’s because:

  1. January 29 was Nana Florence’s birthday and being in Mexico helped us feel closer to her roots. We miss her.
  2. I love guacamole. Yum!
  3. We made such good memories there last year, but I can’t remember any of them. So, I needed a do-over.
  4. My toes wanted to breathe.
  5. It was a great opportunity to brush up on the two Spanish words I know.
  6. We live in Wisconsin… and it’s this time of the year.

Plus, our Mexican getaway allowed me to splash at the pool, (I LOVED the yellow slide!!)

play at the kids’ room, (Equipped with EVERYTHING… a trampoline, a train set and Connect-4!!)

nap at my leisure,

and spend quality time with my parents while I still think they’re cool.

Mexico was warm, beautiful, relaxing and delicious. It’s no wonder why we had to return! The real question is: why didn’t you come with?!

Wanted: Bobsled Teammates

While mom was busy working over the past week, Dad helped me train for the next Winter Olympics Games! Please review the below video and let me know if you’d like to join my bobsled team. No experience necessary. Heck, you don’t even have to be potty-trained. Just bring your skills and any animal crackers you can find in your house. Try-outs will take place at the top of my driveway, not to conflict with my nap schedule, and preferably when my mom isn’t present to disrupt our fun due to safety concerns.

A year of more firsts

My new year’s resolution was to experience more firsts in 2016, and so far I’m off to a good start!

To begin, I decided to get pink eye!

My first experience with pink eye earned me my first trip to Urgent Care, where I scored my first prescription of eye drops! I’ve since been cured, but it was fun while it lasted. Plus, I’ve become an expert eye drop recipient.

Next, I wanted to mix things up a bit by enrolling in a new school closer to mom’s office!

Changing schools meant I got to have a first day in my new room, I got to bring my first packed lunch (since lunch isn’t provided here), and I got to turn on my personality for my first impression with the new teacher. I think she likes me and I really like her back, but I do miss my former teachers and those little biters at my old school. Luckily, I’ve already met some vampires in this room too.

Finally, mom and I decided to take our first trip to dad’s new office at his new job. We had to go all the way up to the 7th floor, but it was so worth that press of the elevator button. The view was incredible!

Watch out! Future engineer in training.

Now, excuse me while I take my first conference call with this calculator.

Happy New Year 2016!

As you’ll see from my photos below, so far, 2016 has been quite a RIDE! Here’s what I’m learning along the way:

1. Hang on tight; life goes by fast!

2. When you get stuck, just give yourself a little push… you’ll get there.

3. If you get off track, try to fix it or ask for help.

4. There can be ups and downs, and scary bumps along the way. It’s okay to cry during these moments.

5. Be sure to slow down every once in a while to make memories.

6. Most of all, enjoy the ride!

Christmas vacation with Papa Florence!

Papa Florence came to visit me!!!

IMG_0523

He brought two furry friends and some gifts that Santa asked him to deliver to yours truly (that’s me!)

After I put a few miles on my new tractors, we played outside in the NOOOOO! (Snow)

Then, we gave Papa his Christmas gifts so I could teach him how to remove wrapping paper at a remarkably slow rate.

Next, I continued to impress by showing Papa a few tricks on my bike. (Look… no feet! And check out my backwards pedal.)

Finally we went for a quick 4-wheeler ride….

…before it was time for Papa to head back to Mukwonago.

Thanks for visiting, Papa Florence! I miss you already, so please come over and play again soon.

Christmas 2015

My 2nd Christmas was a success! It was all about spending quality moments with family, friends, and John Deere tractors. For me, this holiday was an opportunity to give thanks for candy canes and Christmas cookies. ‘Tis the season to boisterously proclaim “NOOOOOO” (translation = “Snow”) for every white flurry that danced in the winter air, and a time when we paused often to grieve the loss of each glass ornament that I confused for a tennis ball. This was also the year I got crowned “Worst Gift Opener Ever,” which might explain the nicely-wrapped presents still sitting under the tree. Other highlights from this Christmas included a family-sized bean bag that moved into our house (Love it!), as well as a spunky little puppy named Blitzen, who became our new neighbor. And even though Christmas 2015 is now just a wonderful memory, I still have one more super-duper week of vacation to enjoy! Mom says that gives me just enough time to get into more trouble and to not open all of my remaining gifts. So, let the celebration continue…

It’s beginning to look a lot like….

…Christmas!

Everywhere we go…

…I’m unfamiliar with the rest of the lyrics of this song…

And REALLY unfamiliar with this funny-looking stranger, whose lap I’m sitting on below.

This old man kinda ruined the holiday spirit, if you ask me. I would have preferred to meet the “magical Santa guy” that everyone keeps talking about.

Oh wait a minute… what?! That was him?! Oh no! Did I ruin my chance to impress? Can I get a do-over?
