Jaeger Amarihttps://hemoveslikejaeger.wordpress.comHi! My name is Jaeger Amari Goodenough and I’m new to this world as of April 16, 2014. My mom helped me create this blog so my loved ones near and far can follow me on my journey of self-discovery. I also hope to look back on this one day to see all the moments that have shaped me.

Touring Waukesha

June 16, 2014 by Jaeger Amari

This past weekend I got to meet more family as we traveled through Waukesha! In one of the pictures below, you’ll see me being the life of the party at my Great Uncle Norman & Great Aunt Gerry’s 50th Wedding Anniversary party.  Nobody hired me to be the entertainment, but somehow I was quite the hit! Then we made a quick visit to see Aunt Donna and my cousin Cloey. I hope we can stay longer next time… mom and Donna have been friends since way before I was born and I can see why. And finally, I got to meet my Great Grandma Garcia! She had lots of stories to tell and she made me feel connected to her daughter (my Grandma Florence), who is no longer with us in a physical sense, but is definitely here in spirit.

Me being the life of the party.

Father’s Day

June 16, 2014 by Jaeger Amari

Yesterday I celebrated my dad, my Grandpa Florence and my Grandpa Goodenough. They are the three men that I get my good looks and awesome personality from! They are my first and forever heroes and I aspire to be like them when I grow up. I’m not sure how I got so super duper lucky to have such incredible father figures in my life, but I’m glad I did. Happy Father’s Day!

Lung capacity

June 14, 2014 by Jaeger Amari

Well, we got to stop at the outlet mall! (But not because I was good.) I decided to test out my lungs to see if these things work and dad was not amused. So, we pulled over in the Dells and mom sprinted into the stores while Dad and I hung out and had lunch. After a few minutes dollars, everyone was happy again! Road trips are FUN!

Feeling the love

June 14, 2014 by Jaeger Amari

Here are some of my friends/aunties that I visited this week… I am loved! I also got to hang out with Angela and see Uncle Will for a while! Now we’re off to visit with some of the Florence family! Maybe we’ll stop at one of the outlet malls on the way if I’m good?! Mom packed enough diapers so we can stay the whole month, although I’m pretty sure we’re coming back home tomorrow. I guess she’s just trying to be prepared in case Thunderpants makes an appearance during this road trip.

Busy Body

June 10, 2014 by Jaeger Amari

I think I’ve been all around the world in the last week! Check out the pictures below to see snapshots of my travels. Tomorrow is my 8-week birthday and instead of celebrating, I’m going to stay home and recover from my adventures as a 7-week-old. But it’s back to La Crosse again for Thursday and Friday, and then I’m going to make a big trip to Mukwonago this weekend to see Grandpa Florence again! Woohoo… I can’t wait! Keep up with me if you can.

Here I am having lunch with Sara Burton at Iguana’s last Wednesday! I told mom to leave that goofy hat at home.
This is me getting my flirt on with Gracie at the New Mom & Baby Group last Thursday.
It was a beautiful day to hang out at Riverside Park. Does anyone know why the sky is blue?

That’s me, in my mom’s arms! We’re standing with the Cass Street Bridge as our backdrop. I told mom to pose like we were sleeping, but she didn’t cooperate.
Here I am not looking at the water fountain.
Me, mom, Tara & Ellie!

And here I am again, not looking at the International Friendship Garden.
Just chillin’ with my guy Graham at Stef & Mike’s place last Friday. Afterwards we hung out at the Fox Hollow Golf Course, but I had so much fun I forgot to take pictures.
This is me enjoying the Dairy Breakfast on Saturday. I can’t wait until I’m old enough to eat a pancake!

After breakfast, I decided to take myself for a stroll through the barn to meet some cows. They’re huge!
I convinced Mom & Dad to take me to Applebee’s so I could watch them eat.
This is a picture of me checking out my first WIAA state track meet. Run faster!

We hosted the Docan-Morgans this past Sunday!
I sure liked them and I think they liked me too!
My cousin Ashlee babysat me while mom had her dental appointment yesterday. I decided to test out her babysitting skills by being a punk for a little bit. She passed the test!

Here we are eating Rocky Rococo’s at Riverside! Hurray for pizza!
This is us enjoying the Mississippi River and some ice cream from The Pearl.
Selfie!

We even walked through the Eco Park in Myrick.
Something looks fishy in there. Ha! Get it?!
I supervised Ashlee while she got her pedicure at the mall.

And then today, me and my new shorts went to Grandma & Grandpa Goodenough’s for a retirement party. Those teachers loved me!

Deep sleep

June 1, 2014 by Jaeger Amari

IMG_0992Last night I slept for 7 hours straight! Woot woot! It’s amazing how a good, deep sleep lets you (and your parents) wake up smiling. I think I might try that again tonight.

Meeting Grandpa Florence

This week I finally got to meet my Grandpa Florence! He’s pretty funny. He nicknamed me Thunderpants when I showed him how loudly I can fill my diaper. Silly grandpa! I also showed Grandpa how brave I am when I had to endure 3 shots at my 6 week check-up. I only cried a little, but I mean, who wouldn’t? In fact, I think mom cried too and they didn’t even poke her, so I guess I am pretty brave!

Grandpa did lots of things with me… he held me, fed me, bounced me in my chair, played tummy time with me, hiked in the forest, went on a 4-wheeler ride, visited UW-L, went grocery shopping and let me play with his kids, Sugar & Bella. His kids have 4 legs, which I thought was a little odd, yet they seemed even more intrigued by me.

It was great fun meeting Grandpa Florence. He says he’s been waiting for me. And, I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I’m pretty sure I was worth the wait!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

May 21, 2014 by Jaeger Amari

Today we celebrate my dad as he turns another year older better! My dad is neat-o! I really look up to him because, well, he’s taller than me, but mostly because he is everything I want to be when I grow up. He’s sincere (but finds a way to be silly), he’s hard-working (but knows how to enjoy life), he is thoughtful and takes good care of those he loves, he’s mentally and physically strong, he’s practical (yet so adventurous) and he’s just all things wonderful. Because I love him so much, I wanted to give him the perfect gift. Despite mom’s best efforts to put me to bed, I stayed awake all of Monday night trying to come up with an idea… What’s better than a fishing boat? What will give him more treasured memories than a hunting trip? What would dad like to play with, take good care of, and love forever? Hmmmm….

Sing-a-long or Snore-a-long

May 15, 2014 by Jaeger Amari

Today mom and I tried to recover from yesterday’s sadness by hanging out with her friend Tara, my friend Ellie, and a bunch of other friendly faces at the New Mom and Baby group.  We got to experience a fun music class… there was singing, guitar playing, tambourines, maracas, dancing and more! Mom says I wasn’t the best participant; see if you can find me in the picture below.

Apparently, I slept through the whole thing. Mom tickled me, sang to me and danced with me and I just snored away. Oops. Good thing I redeemed myself when we went to my cousin Cortney’s concert tonight. There was a lot of music there too, and this time I stayed awake! However, instead of snoring, mom says I was making music in my pants the whole time. How embarrassing! Well, at least I participated.
