On August 24th, 2020, we were forced to quickly transition from the Summer of Papa to the start of a new school year when my parents officially welcomed a first grader into the house. Actually, I wasn’t really in the house because, despite the ongoing pandemic, I got to report to face-to-face school and see my friends in real life instead of through the Google Meets platform. The compromise was that everyone would have to wear face masks all day long and wash our hands often, but it seemed like a small price to pay so that I could get schooled by licensed professionals instead of having my full-time working parents stand-in as my very unqualified math/reading/science/art/gym teachers.

Cheers to being back in school, and fingers crossed that we avoid quarantine and stay in school!
